For those of you currently awaiting funding from the Royal British Legion, you would have received an email/letter stating that your application has been either registered or put on hold for 90 days without any further information. Because of this, we are pleased to announce that UKVHH has started the process of becoming a recognized veterans charity to ensure you continue to receive the best of care. ‘Once We Were soldiers’ main priorities are homeless veterans that have fallen upon hard times and those that find it difficult to adjust to civilian life.
The number of military personnel now suffering with PTSD or other mental health conditions are rising rapidly. Many veterans find themselves homeless, with no hope, no support and through no fault of their own. They turn to alcohol or drugs or both to help them through each day, to block out the horrors they have persistent flashbacks of.
Hear4u, HealthscreenUK and UK Veterans Hearing Help came together on Saturday 30th June for the fabulous cause, Once we were soldiers! The sun was shining and it was a fantastic day!
Greeted by a bangra group for an exercise warm up whilst people were entering the event, food stalls all around and great atmosphere throughout- we were engaged and ready!
What better way to make the most of a glorious day by taking part in the 5k “Rush” through the sunshine and jumping through 5 different coloured bubble stations.
